Description

When checking out of Amazon without a Prime subscription, the “offer” displays with what appears to be a “select one” control with an offer already selected, and an option to click the right-pointing arrow to select a different option. Based on what I would expect intuitively, it looks as if I already accidentally accepted an offer for Prime and need to click the right-pointing arrow to undo or set it to a different setting. When clicked, the offer is activated and there is no clear option to remove it from the cart. I backed out of the page at that point and was able to avoid subscribing; however, I believe my mother was taken in by this same pattern as she paid for three months of Amazon Prime before noticing it on her credit card statements and cancelling it, as she didn’t want to subscribe and was unaware that she had subscribed.
