This dark pattern takes the form of a “gift” button, conveniently placed right by the message text bar in which one types messages on the mobile app. Hitting this button inadvertently will take you to a page on which you can purchase a Nitro subscription to gift to someone in the channel. The button is located right where the “gif” button used to be, and many people have reported issues with its placement — yet the company has done nothing. I’m sure they’ve made money off of this inconvenience.
